THE VIGIL

To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

I would like to make it absolutely clear that Tocsin was in no way connected with the plans for a vigil protesting nuclear tests in the Yard on Wednesday, Nov.1. Tocsin neither organized nor intended to sponsor such a vigil.

Your article on the front page of Wednesday's CRIMSON states that Tocsin had organized a vigil, but that Dean Watson's office had "denied them permission." Both these statements are inaccurate. If your reporter had bothered to check either with Dean Watson's office or with an officer of Tocsin to get the facts this mistake would not have occurred. Peter C. Goldmark, Jr. '62,   Chairman, TOCSIN.

Ed. Note--The graduate student who saw Dean Watson Tuesday about the vigil in the Yard told the CRIMSON that he was a representative of Tocsin. Since then, he has issued statements in the name of Tocsin. In the future, the CRIMSON will ignore him.
