CRIMSON FINISHES THIRD IN IVY OFFENSE, DEFENSE

Final Ivy League statistics show co-champion Harvard third in total offense, third in total defense, and sixth in punting. Racking up 1546 yards, the varsity was second behind Columbia (1769) on the ground but ranked a feeble seventh in passing yardage (285).

The Crimson's tough defense gave up only 232.7 yards per game, compared with 213.1 for Dartmouth and 196.9 for the Lions. On the ground the varsity line held Its opponents to 1072 yards. But to no one's surprise the squad gave up more passing yardage then any other Ivy team--557 yards.

In Individual statistics Harvard fared incredibly badly. No varsity member ranked in the top ten in either total offense or passing. Fullback Bill Grana, however, finished ninth in rushing, fifth in punting, and fifth in scoring in the Ivy League.

Quarterback Bill king of Dartmouth was first in total offense (737) and in passing (584). Columbia halfback Tom Haggerty led the League in rushing (557) and in scoring (10 TD's).
