Eminent oenologist Robert Jay Misch will deliver a special lecture on the proper selection of fine wines tonight at 8 p.m. in Quincy House.
Misch is crusading to "unmask the snobbism" against domestic wines. He hopes "Harvard men will be pioneers in such an enlightenment crusade."
The talk, reputedly the first given at the University on problems in oenology, or the connoisseurship of fine wines, will feature audience participation. Misch believes the lecture will help College men appreciate wine.
Tonight's speech will focus on problems in choosing wines and recognition of grapes and includes an introduction to American wines. The representatives of "Fine Wines of California" also intends to investigate if "1961 is a good year for decanting Harvard."
