DELAY NAMING YALE SQUARE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Councillor Alfred E. Vellucci's motion to name the intersection of Plympton and Mt. Auburn Streets YALE SQUARE has been referred to the City Council Committee on Finance where it may die a slow and neglected death.

When the motion came up at yesterday's Council meeting Councillor Joseph A. DeGuglielmo '28 immediately moved that the motion be referred to the Finance Committee (of which he is chairman) "because the Council has to see if the city has enough money for a sign saying Yale Square."

Amid peals of laughter the Council sent the bill to Finance by a chanimous mous vote.

Velluici introduced the resolution to name the area fronting on the Lampoon Yale Square because he wished to honor Elihu Yale, "a great educator and a loyal son of the Massachusetts Bay Colony."
