University Bursar Dies

Charles C. Pyne, bursar of the University, died yesterday after collapsing in his Lehman Hall office. He had been a member of the administrative staff of Harvard since 1948.

A former Naval officer, Pyne served for eight years as assistant to the University's administrative vice-President and for one year as assistant bursar before becoming bursar in 1956. Previously, he was deputy administrative secretary of the Research and Development board in Washington.
