James M. Chadbourn has been appointed professor of Law here, Erwin N. Griswold, dean of the Law School announced today. His appointment becomes effective July 1.
Chadbourn, a specialist in procedure and evidence, was a visiting professor of law here last year. He is presently Connell Professor of Law at UCLA. He has also taught at the University of North Carolina, Duke University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Seminar in American Studies at Salisbury, Austria.
A graduate of The Citadel and of the University of North Carolina Law School, Chadbourn is the author of "Lynching and the Law" (1933) and of "Cases and Materials on Civil Procedure" (1961).
