John F. O'Brien '65, of Leverett House and Brockton, yesterday was elected captain of the 1964 varsity football team. Outgoing captain Bill Southmayd praised O'Brien as a "fine leader" and predicted he would "set an example for the whole team" next season. O'Brien who played behind All-Ivy center Brad Stephens this year, will probably be the starting center on the squad next fall.
