Sophomore Jim Campon sparked the Crimson golf team to an easy victory in the Greater Boston Golf Championships at the South Shore Golf Club yesterday.
Five Harvard golfers compiled a score of 371 as each shot 36 holes over the South Shore layout. Tufts trailed the Crimson by seven strokes to take second place.
Campon shot a 167 for the two rounds to take second place in the tournament behind Abbott Baker of Boston University. Bob Holton was second low scorer for the Crimson, firing a 174 for the $6 holes.
Doug Eaton was one stroke behind Holton with a 175. Stan Abrams and Peter Tague rounded out the Crimson scoring, with 177 and 178 respectively.
The golf team has swept its last four intercollegiate dual matches, running its season's record to six wins and three losses. The team has beaten Holy Cross, 6-1, M.I.T., 5-3, Penn, 5-2, and Columbia, 6-1, in its most recent matches.
