An unusually strong Crimson foil group led Harvard to a 17-10 victory over Trinity Saturday.
Traditionally a weak spot, Harvard's foil squad has been shining recently; it positively glowed Saturday. Dan Kirsch and Rich Kolombatavitch won all three of their bouts. After he won two bouts, Dave Dooley was replaced by Malcolm Parry, a promising sophomore who lost his match 5-4.
The sabre squad put in a typically fine performance, winning seven of nine bouts. Paul Zygas swept all three of his matches; Lawrence Butler lambasted two opponents before sophomore Al Makaitas replaced him; Makaitas won, too.
The erratic epee group was as bad as the foil fencers were good. No one in the varsity lineup won anything.
