An ad hoc committe made up mainly of members of PAX has raised money for a full-page advertisement in tomorrow's New York Times in answer to the State Department's White Paper on Vietnam.
The Committee for a Negotiated Settlement in Southeast Asia will run a reprint of the march 3 issue of I.F. Stone's Weekly, as the text of the advertisement.
The Weekly, an independent four-page Washington newsletter, disputed the State Department's claim that the conflict is South Vietnam is based on an invasion from the North. The rebuttal uses statistics from the Defense and State Departments.
H.A. Crosby Forbes '50, John F. Maher '60, and Martin H. Peretz, teaching fellow in Government, have been partially responsible for the advertisement. The group is still seeking funds to place the advertisement in newspapers around the country.
