Tuning up for the Princeton match this Saturday, Harvard's varsity tennis team gained an 8-1 victory over Cornell at Ithaca yesterday.

Cornell captain John Gallinatto, a clever control player, downed Crimson sophomore Bernie Adeisberg, 6-4, 6-2, for the sole Big Red victory. Adeisberg was filling the number one spot in place of Dave Benjamin, who did not make the trip.

Cornell sophomore Mark Taylor, a smooth stroking left-hander, battled lefty Richie Friedman of Harvard to three sets before bowing, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

In the remaining four singles and three doubles matches, the Crimson had no trouble rolling to straight-set wins. It was Harvard's seventh consecutive triumph since returning from the Southern trip.
