Candidates for Council Will Speak at Quincy

Candidates for the Cambridge City Council and School Committee will speak at 8 p. m. tonight in the Quincy House junior common room. Both Councillors Barbara W. Ackermann and Alfred E. Vellucci have agreed to speak.

Rent control is a major issue in the Council campaign, and students who live off-campus are expected to hold a crucial bloc of votes on November 4. Last summer the Council defeated a rent control bill by a 5-4 vote.

The rally tonight is sponsored by the Citizens for Participation Polities, and the Harvard Democratic club of the Law School.
