Thieves broke into the Harvard Center for Population Studies on Bow St. last night sometime between the hours of 7 and 11 p.m. and took an undetermined number of typewriters and office machines.
Richard Tabors, a Fellow at the center, estimate the losses at several thousand dollars. "Some of those machines go for $500 a piece," he said. "They (the thieves) had good taste; the typewriters were IBM 'Executives'."
