Explosion Rocks Stanford Offices

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A time bomb-one of several explosive attacks jolting northern California early yesterday morning-caused approximately $25,000 in dam age to the presidential office building at Stanford University.

Fire bombs also destroyed two delivery trucks at the Los Gatos Post Office, south of Stanford; and an explosive device damaged the night depository, breaking windows at the Bank of America in Mill Valley, just north of San Francisco. No one was injured in any of the bombings.

Authorities have been unable to tie any of the bombings together.

The Stanford blast, occurring at 3:54 a.m., came just hours after rifle shots had punctured two electric transformers at the Stanford central power station. According to a Stanford Daily News reporter, the resultant leakage would have caused a mild explosion had it not been discovered quickly.

The FBI, which has assumed charge of the Stanford investigation, has no suspects at the present time.
