Frosh Cagers Beat Brandeis 102-97; Yardling Stickmen Trounce Indians

The Crimson freshman basketball team--showing good discipline and some well-honed plays--defeated Brandeis in Waltham last night 102-97.

The scarcity of mistakes and a mere 13 turnovers drove the cagers to the narrow victory. Coach John Harvey was pleased with the excellent team play. "It was a fun game to watch--both teams played so well."

Harvard's Arnie Needleman scored 21 points, while teammates Jeff Wheat and Lou Silver each provided the team with 17. Brandeis' John Harvey was high scorer with 37 points.

The freshman hockey team scored an impressive victory over the Indians last night in Hanover. The stickmen rolled right over Dartmouth with a final score of 12-4.

The score stood at 4-1 at the end of the first period. Harvard split its remaining goals in the second and final periods. The dispirited Indians came back in the third period with three goals, but the rally was punctured by the final buzzer.
