The Afro-American Studies Department Search Committee, which was supposed to announce a new appointment in March, is starting from scratch again in its hunt for new Afro Faculty. The search committee suffered a major setback last month when negotiations to bring John W. Blassingame, associate professor of History at Yale, to Harvard fell through.
