Cambridge Boy Stabbed Friday Near the Coop

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A 15-year-old resident of North Cambridge suffered multiple stab wounds late Friday night during a fight between two groups of local youths in Harvard Square.

Fair Condition

The injured boy, Kevin O'Rourke, was taken by Cambridge Police to Mt. Auburn Hospital where he was given a transfusion of nine pints of blood after being placed in an intensive care unit. Hospital spokesmen yesterday listed O'Rourke in fair condition.

No arrests have yet been made in the case, but police are looking for a 15- to 17-year-old boy described to them by O'Rourke as the wounded youth's assailant, Cambridge Det. Sgt. James A. Roscoe said yesterday.

An eyewitness to the stabbing, Philip S. Sloan '77, said yesterday that O'Rourke's assailant did not leave the scene of the fight until the police arrived several minutes after the stabbing.
