The Radcliffe sailing squad got off to a fast start in attaining its goal of being the champion intercollegiate women's sailing team when it topped 12 area schools in the Jerry Reed Invitational Regatta held yesterday and Saturday.
The Radcliffe contingent garnered 66 points to MIT's 70 and B.U.'s 82 in the low-point scoring system. All three teams will go to the National Championships in Newport Beach, Calif., on June 7, 8 and 9.
Kathy Angell, skipper for Harvard's first team, said yesterday that the club is psyched to top MIT in the Nationals because Radcliffe was a very close second to MIT at the Nationals last year. "It will probably come down to Radcliffe, MIT, and maybe Princeton," Angell said.
