The Radcliffe water polo team scored a decisive 7-1 triumph over Northeastern last Sunday at the IAB. The decisiveness was underscored when the Huskies stormed out of the water after one half of play.
"They said we were playing dirty," Radcliffe player Jeanne Guyton said yesterday. "But it was really just good defense." The Radcliffe effort came as a surprise considering that they had been bombed previously by the same Northeastern club.
Guyton, RoAnn Costin and Kris Krendell accounted for most of the scores. "We were really pumping them in," Guyton said.
In the same tourney, Radcliffe smashed UMass, 16-6, with Guyton, Costin and Krendell again pacing the offense. The victory came one week after the team tied UMass, 6-6.
Guyton said that in the earlier match the team "had been down 5-2 at the beginning of the last period, and got four goals in the last two minutes. It was really spectacular."
