Mather Windows

By George K. Sweetnam

Sharp fluctuations in air pressure around 6 p.m. Sunday evening shattered three windows in the Mather House tower, F. Skiddy von Stade Jr. '38, master of Mather House, said yesterday.

No one was hurt by the falling glass.

The broken windows were being replaced yesterday, von Stade said.

Edward R. Taylor, structural foreman for Buildings and Grounds, yesterday refused to disclose the cost of the damage.

Taylor said it was not unusual for windows to blow out around the University. Mather tower windows have shattered in the past, although no more than one window at a time, von Stade added.
