NEW HAVEN, Conn.--Jim Yent, a 6',6" sophomore from Canoga Park, Calif., was chosen last night as captain of the 1977-78 Yale University basketball team. Yent was a starter for the Elis all season, averaging 9.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
Also yesterday, Carnell Cooper, a 6',4" senior who led the Ivy League in rebounds last year and was Yale's leading scorer with 12.1 points per game, was chosen the team's Most Valuable Player.
