Child Abuse Verdict

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

BARTOW, Fla.--Judge Oliver Green last week ordered a 28-year-old mother of two not to get pregnant or marry a man with children while she serves ten years of probation for aggravated child abuse.

Kathy Y. Rodriquez, who was convicted of beating her 8-year-old daughter in her front yard last July in what police said was an attempt to exercise the devil, also lost custody of her two children.

Rick Replogle, attorney for Rodriquez, said he does not agree with the judge's ruling, but added that if he contested it the judge might change the sentence to a prison term.
