The eight-week delay in processing Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS) reports predicted earlier this year will not affect Law School applicants, Sandy Blanchard, assistant to the director of admissions, said yesterday.

The Law School Admission Council has recommended that law schools extend their deposit deadline dates from April 1 to May 1 because some schools are processing applications slower than others, Glenn J. Phillips, spokesman for Educational Testing Service (ETS), said yesterday.

Late arrival of a new ETS computer system postponed the processing of LSDAS information until November, Phillips said. The reports include Law School Admission Test scores, college transcripts and other biographical information. The LSDAS began in 1970 at the request of law schools and is sponsored by the Law School Admission Council.

Harvard will not extend its April 1 deadline because the ETS delay has not significantly affected its admissions process, Blanchard said.
