FBI Charges California Man With Transporting Explosives

A California man, repeatedly suspected of being connected to an American scientist group which claimed responsibility for the assassination of the Turkish Council in Boston last spring was asserted Friday night by FBI agents.

FBI agents and state police asserted 20-year-old Steven J. Daduian of Canoga Park Calif., at Logan Airport in Buston and changed him with transporting explosives in Interstate commerce, a spokesman for the FBI said yesterday.

The FBI said Dadarin is linked with the Justice Commanders of the Armenian Genocide, which claimed responsibility for the assassination last May 4 of Orhan R. Gundur, the Boston Turkish Council according to reports published yesterday.

Gunduz was shot as he was driving home from his Central Square. Cambridge office which was severely damaged last March by a pipe-bomb explosion. The Justice Commandos also claimed responsibility for that blast.

The Justice Commandos have said they are avenging the deaths of 1.5 million Armemians killed by the Truks of the Ottoman Empire in 1915.

Dadaian had reportedly been carrying dynamic detonators and a timer in a suitcase. He was being held last night on 51 million balt.
