Women's History Week

To the Editors of the Crimson:

I would like to correct some of the more glaring factual inaccuracies and ommissions in Adam Cohen's reporting of Women's History Week at Harvard and Radcliffe (March 11, 1982).

1. Radcliffe initiated and sponsored several events during the week, including three films, a slide presentation, and a reception at the Schlesinger library.

2. Radcliffe funded the lecture by Professor Susan Okin organized by the Graduate Women in History.

3. Radcliffe produced and distributed 500 posters and press releases publicizing all the Women's History Week events.

4. Although this is, I gather, the first year that Harvard has sponsored events during Women's History Week. Radcliffe--and the Schlesinger Library in particular--has done so for several years.

The Graduate Women in History organized an excellent lecture series. The attendance at the lectures and the films has been extremely good, and we look forward to working with Harvard to make the celebration of Women's History Week an annual event at Harvard and Radcliffe.
