Captain Maria Pe scored a victory at fourth singles and teamed with Debbie Kaufman to win at second doubles, but the Harvard women's tennis team captured only one more match, falling to host Yale, 6-3, Saturday. The loss dropped the Crimson's record to 4-5 overall, 2-1 in Ivy League play.

Top seed Elizabeth Evans took a set from Bulldog Connie Yowell, whom Harvard Coach Don Usher called "the best singles player in the Ivies." Evans fought off six match points before falling in the third and final set. Deanne Loonin triumphed for Harvard at fifth singles.
