The latest University Police statistics, released for the week ending February 12, show that since July 1, there have been no homicides, no rapes, one sexual assault, 17 assaults, seven robberies, 304 thefts over $100, 34 breaking and enterings and 88 bike thefts reported on Harvard grounds.
Police estimated the value of property stolen from February 17 to February 23 at $11,805, including a diamond and ruby ring that was stolen from Langdell Law School Library.
The following reports of crimes were taken from notes in the University Police log last week.
February 17, 9:24 p.m.-A Mather House resident heard strange noises outside of his front door. As he opened the door, he heard someone running down the stairs, and gave chase. The suspicious person escaped through the back door, which had been broken that evening.
No arrests have been made in the case.
February 19, 5:00 p.m.-An unknown person or persons broke into a first-floor apartment at the Soldiers Field Park apartment complex. An outside screen was torn and an unlocked window was found open. The apartment was not disturbed, and the only item missing is a printing calculator valued at $30.
No suspicious persons were seen and no arrests have been made in the case.
February 19, 11:00 p.m.-A visitor to the campus parked his rented 1983 Chevy sedan at the visitor lot on the east side of the Soldiers Field Park garage at 11 p.m. When he returned the next day at 2 p.m., the car, worth 99500, was gone.
No suspicious persons were seen and no arrests have been made in the case.
