Jay Murphy tossed in 26 points and Michael Adams added 22 as Boston College rolled over St. Joseph's, 76-63, in the opening round of the National Invitational Tournament last night in Philadelphia.
The Eagles, 18-1, broke the game open early in the second half, outscoring St. Joseph's, 12-2, to take a 46-34 lead with 17:02 left. The Eagles missed only eight of 25 shots from the field in the second-half.
Murphy, a 6-11 senior forward, connected on 12 of 16 shots from the field, mostly from the outside. Adams, a 5-11 junior guard, sparked the offense with lightning quick passes and 6 steals.
