Formet Deans of the Faculty, it seems, just can't get enough. Or reaching that is.

Henry Rosovsky had time only for an occasional lecture during the 11 years he served as leader of the Faculty. But this spring, back from a team away after resigning the deanship last summer, the Japanese economics expert has taken on half the teaching load for Historical Study A-14. "Iradition and Transformation in East Asian Civilization Japan."

At the introductory lecture yesterday, Rosovsky, according to students, told an overflow Science Center crowd that he was, well, pleased to be back at the lectern.

"After 11 years of administrative foolishness, I am happy to return to the essence of this University--teaching and interacting with students." Rosovsky is quoted as saying, as the hundreds of undergraduates in attendance broke into applause.

Rosovsky now Geyser University Professor, also expressed surprise at the size of the crowd.

"I haven't seen so many students in one room since the occupation of University Hall," he reportedly said.

Students speculated the huge turnout may have had something to do with the fact that the course counts for dual credit in the Core Curriculum--both for Foreign Cultures and Historical Study A.
