Two Harvard Students Grab Purse-Snatcher

By Shari Rudavsky

Two Harvard students apprehended a purse-snatching youth yesterday night as he ran down Plympton St. with his victim in pursuit.

David A. Kirsch '87 and Michael R. Bergmann '87 were standing in front of Adams House shortly after 10 p.m. when they said they saw two youths run by, followed by a couple. "We saw a woman in high heels running after them and we realized it was no joke," said Kirsch.

Since they "knew the lay of the land," the two students decided to take a short-cut through Adams and check the parking lot behind St. Paul's church for the purse-snatchers, according to Kirsch.

He said they found one of the youths crouching behind a car with the purse, trying to act nonchalant. The two held him caged against a car until the police arrived.
