Richard J. Simpson completed yesterday's Boston Marathon in 2:39, making him the fastest among the 59 Harvard affiliates who informed The Crimson of their finishing times.
Simpson, a public services librarian at the Fine Arts Library, has run 28 previous marathons. Yesterday he competed in the Boston Marathon for the eighth straight year.
Adams House Senior Tutor Mike Hyatt crossed the finish line in 2:46:07, while junior Paul Morris (3:07:29) and freshman Richard Meyer (3:08:15) were the first undergraduates to finish.
Other affiliates included Dave Rosen, director of the Harvard News Office, Dunster House Resident Tutors Glena and Joan Butterton, Lionel Hall Proctor Mary Ellen Mangano '80 and Assistant Freshmman Heavyweight Crew Coach Blosker D. Meitzen. All times are unconfirmed reported by the runners.
