Badgers Breeze

While most of you were sitting by the fire, greedily eyeing presents under the tree on the Saturday and Sunday before Christmas, the Harvard men's hockey team was in Madison, Wisc., battling the nationally-ranked Badgers.

When the two-game set was over, the icemen were likely yearning for a tree of their own.

Because although playing solidly, the Crimson lost both contests by identical 5-4 scores in packed Dane County Coliseum.

The Cantabs had last played Wisconsin in the 1983 Division I Championship, losing 6-2.

But while playing better this time around, Harvard could not improve its overall record against the Badgers which fell to 1-7.

"It's a tough place to play," Crimson Captain Scott Fusco said. "The first night we didn't play well. But I thought we should have won the second game."

Fusco recorded his 200th career point with an assist in the second game.
