The Class of 1990. The Harvard Shop described 'em on free T-shirts as the beginnning of "a new decadence." They may have settled into Harvard Yard, but do we really know who they are? Here's a quickie profile of the students who will launch Harvard's 36th decade:

.State which sent the most students to the class of '90: Massachusetts, with 278 enrolled.

.State from which Harvard admitted the most freshmen: New York, with 370.

.State which did not send any representatives to the Class of '90: Wyoming, North Dakota.

.Freshmen from the nation's six central states: 34.

.Freshmen from the 13 southern states: 181.

.Freshmen from the nation's seven mid-Atlantic states: 475.

.States or Canadian provinces with 100 percent acceptance rates: Delaware (5 for 5); Nova Scotia (3 for 3); Manitoba (3 for 3).

.Total number of foreign students, excluding Canada, in the Class of '90: 49.

.Percentage of alumni children in the Class of '90: 19.8.
