Personnel Head To Step Down At End of Year

Harvard's director of personnel announced this week that he will step down from his post in June.

Daniel D. Cantor, who has been the University's top gun in personnel for 10 years, said yesterday that he will continue to work for Harvard part-time after leaving the directorship at the end of the academic year.

"It's been a fascinating, really rewarding time," he said of his tenure at the University. "I think we've made tremendous advances."

Cantor said the highlight of his Harvard career has been working with Vice President and General Counsel Daniel Steiner '54, whom he called a "tremendous leader."

For the next two years, Cantor said he plans to work on special projects, including retirees and their connections with Harvard, disabled employees, and administrative career development.

"I'll be doing some other things I'd like to do," he added.
