The Harvard men's and women's fencing teams opened their seasons Sunday at the Malkin Athletic Center. The squads dropped only one bout apiece while trampling Trinity College.
For the women's squad, starters Penelope Papalias, Kristina Perkin, Amy Neuhardt and Michelle Kosch, along with sub Amanda Leness, teamed up for a 15-1 victory in foil.
The men, who compete in epee and sabre as well as foil, rolled to a 26-1 triumph. Weapon leaders Kevin McCarthy (sabre), Ray Carthy (foil) and Jim O'Neill (epee) each went undefeated on the day.
