After four years of performing in and around Cambridge, a Harvard dance troupe will open its first show on a major professional stage tonight in downtown Boston.
The Citystep dance troupe will perform a completely original program at the Boston Shakespeare Theatre on September 26, 27 and 28.

Sabrina Peck '84 choreographed and directed the performance, which she said will culminate several years of Citystep's work at Harvard and with local youths.
Peck, a former Quincy House resident who founded the group as an undergraduate, said the performance will be an "engaging and moving" reflection of "the pulse and pressure of city life."
The show's performers are Harvard undergraduate and graduate students, some of whom are instructors in the Citystep program which teaches dance to Cambridge public school students.
Music for tonight's performance, Peck said yesterday, will be a "weave of jazz, modern and classical," and was composed by Adam A. Gorgoni '86, Brooks Whitehead '83, Norman Yamata '84 and others.
The show is a "collaborative effort" between the dancers and the musicians, the show's director. Many of them stayed in touch after graduation because they were interested in Citystep and the arts, she said.
Peck said she will complete her fifth year with the troupe, and then move to New York where she plans to "pursue a career in the arts."
Tickets for tonight and tomorrow night's 8 p.m. performances are $8. Admission to Sunday's 2 p.m. matinee costs $6.
