A Disappointment in Detroit

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Harvard hockey team traveled to Detroit over spring break seeking the NCAA Championship which had eluded it by a single goal last season. This year's Crimson didn't fare as well as last year's runner-up, falling to North Dakota in the semis and then Minnesota in the consolation game. The tournament--even for the Crimson--had some fine moments.

Clockwise from the top right, Harvard forward LANE MACDONALD soars over a UM defenseman in the Crimson's 5-2 loss. Defenseman DON SWEENEY (2) battles for the puck near the boards. MACDONALD looks to take the puck the length of the ice and score. Minnesota featured skating cheerleaders and mascot. Harvard goalie DICKIE MCEVOY (left) and SWEENEY watch as a Sioux forward knocks over the net.
