NEW YORK--Don Mattingly hit a grand slam and Rickey Henderson and Claudell Washington also homered to lead the New York Yankees to an 9-1 victory over the Texas Rangers yesterday. It was the Yankees 14th win in 16 home games.

Dennis Rasmussen (3-2) allowed five hits, walked four and struck out nine in 7-2/3 innings. Cecilio Guante got the final out in the eighth and Clements pitched the ninth.

Henderson led off the first with an opposite field homer to right off Ed Correa (1-4). It was his eighth homer of the season, the fourth leading off a game.

Washington, who had three RBI for the game, drove in a second Yankee run with a groundout.
