Public Policy Group

NEWS BRIEFS

By David B. Lat

A new student group dedicated to researching public policy will hold its first general meeting in the next two weeks, members said yesterday.

The Harvard Democratic Leadership will serve as a bridge between Harvard students interested in policy formation and legislators onall levels, said Tom E. Castleton '93, president of the organization.

Most of the 20 members of the Harvard Democratic Leadership are also members of the Harvard-Radcliffe Democrats, although the two groups are completely separate.

Because the new group focuses on policy issues instead of campaigning and other political endeavors, members said the group's formation is not a re-enacument of the division that occurred last month in the Harvard-Radcliffe Republican Club. While the group is composed of Democrats, Castleton said it is non-partisan.
