Gregoire Wrong About Hanson

I have always respected Brandon Gregoire as a hard-working individual and as a student of Winthrop House.

However, I feel his recent out-bursts against [Winthrop House Master] Paul D. Hanson are completely uncalled for and, unfortunately, reflect the maturity of a five-year old. I attended the special meeting that Paul Hanson called. I agree that Paul may have kept the meeting in session longer than it needed to be.

However, it was very clear to anybody there, as well as anybody who knows the type of person Paul Hanson is, that he kept the meeting in session out of his concern that everybody in the house would have an opportunity to express their opinions. There was no malicious intent on Paul's part. In fact, Paul and his wife Cynthia Rosenberger have been doing an excellent job as Winthrop House masters in attempting to bring the House together and to make it a place where people of different backgrounds can live together.

I have no idea what personal problems Brandon has with Paul Hanson and Senior Tutor Greg Mobley, but to drag the entire house into them by publically demanding a House referendum is egotistically pathetic. --Mike Evers '95
