Eight Schools Compete in Harvard-Sponsored Trivia Event

Teams from eight colleges visited the campus Saturday to take part in the second-annual Harvard T Party, a trivia competition sponsored by the Harvard College Bowl Club.

Teams from B.U., Cornell, Dartmouth, MIT, NYU, the University of Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale competed in the event.

"We had a great turn out, and everyone went home happy," said Quincy resident Gilbert D. Collins '96, co-president of the College Bowl Club.

Cornell's first team defeated Dartmouth's first team in a final of the 19-team tournament that remained undecided until the last question.

Harvard's team is the defending College Bowl Incorporated and Academic Competition Federation national champion.

Because the team's experienced members planned and ran the event, however, Harvard was represented by eight novices. The two Harvard squads, each comprised of four students, had a combined second of 7-17.

"Most schools brought very experienced teams," said club member Charles A. Truesdell III '99. "We were very impressed with how our teams did."

The trivia club meets on Wednesdays in Robinson Hall from 8 to 10 p.m. and is open to undergraduate and graduate students. Intramurals will be held during reading period and the club will host an intercollegiate sports trivia bowl on March 16.
