Now that we have the chance, let's remind the council that our money is real money--not Monopoly dollars to be thrown at the nearest concert promoter.

If both questions on the referendum pass, student groups from PBH programs to ethnic associations will have more money to buy equipment, hold festivals and sponsor winning social events. House committees and the first-year caucus will have more funds for formals, theme dances and improvements to house facilities.

And the Council will still have more than $26,000 to fund its successful standbys: Yalegate, airport shuttle buses, Springfest and the Levenson teacher awards ceremony. To spread the wealth and force the Council to cut wasteful spending, vote yes on both referendum questions.
