Article Misrepresents Promise Keepers

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

After reading Molly Hennessy-Fiske's Oct. 8 opinion piece on the Promise Keepers, one would think that the Promise Keepers directly advocate husbands' abuse of their wives. Being neither Christian nor conservative, I do not fundamentally support any of the objectives of the Promise Keepers. Yet, Hennessy-Fiske acts irresponsibly in equating the aims of this group with spousal abuse. In distorting the views of the Promise Keepers, she actually trivializes the discussion of what should be done to prevent the abuse of women. --Michael Cohen '99
