The Cuban American Undergraduate Student Association (CAUSA) elected its new officers on Tuesday night in a meeting in Lowell House.
Roughly 15 club members voted to fill the five executive positions.
Richard A. Perez '00, who is also a Crimson executive, and Jorge A. Alvarez '01 were elected co-presidents of the group. Cristina L. Rasco '01 will serve as vice-president. Adela C. Acevedo '01 was elected to the treasurer post, and Jacqueline C. Hamm '01 will serve as the group's secretary.
CAUSA also created a new executive position, public relations director, on Tuesday night. Suzanne M. Besu '01 was elected to the post.
CAUSA sponsored a food booth in this past February's Cultural Rhythms Festival.
The organization is also co-sponsoring a party at Winthrop House on April 9 with the Harvard Organization of Latin Americans (HOLA) and the Harvard-Radcliffe Society of Arab Students.
CAUSA aims to educate the Harvard population about Cuban culture.
The group's constitution gives its support to a free and democratic Cuba.
