W. Water Polo Ends Season Ranked No. 20

By The Crimson Staff

The Harvard women’s water polo team ended its 2004 season with a No. 20 ranking in the National Collegiate Top 20 Poll, marking the only time this season the squad has broken into the poll.

After a 6-2 victory over Princeton—ranked No. 18 at the time—and an overall 3-1 mark at the Collegiate Water Polo Association Eastern Championships last week, the Crimson earned a place on the list.

The top nine spots are occupied by schools in California, and six University of California schools rank in the Top 20. Ivy rival Brown finished with a No. 19 ranking.

Harvard ended the season 22-11 in intercollegiate play.
