Trimble Earns Ivy League Player of the Week Honors

Volleyball captain Suzie Trimble closed out her senior campaign in fine fashion, receiving Ivy League Player of the Week accolades for her stellar play in last weekend’s matches against Columbia and Cornell.

After posting eight kills in the Crimson’s 3-0 sweep of the Lions on Friday, the middle blocker notched a team-high 24 kills in Saturday’s 3-2 loss to the Big Red. With only three errors and 43 kill attempts in the Cornell match, Trimble finished with a striking .488 hitting percentage.

In the second game of that match, she batted a perfect 10 kills on 10 attempts to lead the Crimson to a 30-28 game-victory over the Big Red.

On the whole, Trimble finished with a .450 hit-percentage, 4 blocks, and an ace in addition to her 32 kills in her last two games wearing the Crimson uniform.

Yesterday’s league announcement makes Trimble the first Harvard volleyball player to receive Player of the Week honors this season.
