SPORTS BRIEF: Crimson will be without '06 leading scorer against Seawolves in Long Island

By Malcom A. Glenn, Crimson Staff Writer

The Harvard men’s lacrosse team will be without its leading scorer from last year for the second straight game as the Crimson (0-1) travels to Stony Brook (0-1) to for a 1 p.m. road-showdown tomorrow in Long Island.

Senior attackman Evan Calvert, whose sprained ankle kept him out of Sunday’s 13-4 season-opening loss at Ohio State, will once again be on the sideline. Junior attackman Liam Griff, who led the Crimson with two goals in the opener, will make his second career start in Calvert’s place.

“We’re still confident,” Harvard coach Scott Anderson said. “Some of our expectations have diminished, but I don’t think our goals have diminished. It’s allowed us to relax.”
