In its final tune-up before Ivy League Championships, the No. 25 Harvard women’s swimming and diving team took nine of 11 events in an exhibition relay meet with Northeastern Friday at Blodgett Pool.
Sophomore Katy Hinkle was part of three winning teams, anchoring the 150-yard butterfly relay and leading off in the 200-yard medley and 250-yard medley relay events.
Hinkle posted the top split (25.92) for her 50-yard butterfly leg as she teamed up with sophomore Robyn Thom and junior Sophie Morgan to win the opening butterfly relay.
As the meet shifted to graduated relays, Harvard continued to find success, winning the 500-yard freestyle relay (4:40.05). Freshman Monica Burgos, sophomore Holly Furman, Zagroba, and junior co-captain Alexandra Clarke earned the narrow victory over Lightbourne, sophomores Ali Slack and Christine Kaufmann, and junior Katie Faulkner.
The Crimson also came out on top in the 300-yard medley relay and the 300-yard freestyle relay.
Northeastern’s only win came in the 150-yard freestyle relay, where the Huskies edged out sophomore Katherine Pickard, Clarke, and sophomore Laura Murray by just three-tenths of a second.
On the diving side, freshman Leslie Rea won both the 1-meter (267.82) and 3-meter (269.10) competitions. Sophomores Marissa Ash and Anne Taylor helped round out the Harvard sweeps of both events.
The relay meet was the Crimson’s last home competition of the season, and the team’s two seniors—Sundberg and co-captain Kelly Mooney—were honored on the Senior Day.
Harvard will try to unseat defending champion Princeton at the Ivy League Championships next week.
