Three minors were arraigned and charged Friday in connection with a “brazen” shooting between Central and Kendall Square last week, according to the Cambridge Police Department.

A 17-year-old from Cambridge was charged with five firearm charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a large capacity magazine and ammunition.

A 14-year-old was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. A 15-year-old was charged with assault and battery on a police officer and accessory to the shooting.

CPD obtained a search warrant for the home of one of the suspects, and found “additional evidence” – including a 30-round capacity magazine and ammunition, according to the CPD statement.

“These arraignments begin the process of holding accountable those alleged to have been responsible for the shooting incident which occurred in the middle of the afternoon on Monday in busy Central Square,” Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said in the statement.

“While it is fortunate that no one was injured, that does not mitigate the terrible risk presented by this reckless gun violence” she added.

The case is being investigated by the DA’s office, CPD, and the Massachusetts State Police.
