Digging up Harvard Yard

Earth Movers

Archaeology is alive and kicking in the Boston area. At Harvard, a hands-on course in the Anthropology Department allows students to dig up artifacts in their own backyard. Meanwhile, the City of Boston Archaeology Program gives volunteers an opportunity to engage with the city’s historical legacy.


Harvard Semitic Museum To Undergo New Changes

Under the leadership of new director, professor Peter Der Manuelian, and with the support of a new umbrella organization, Harvard Museums of Science and Culture, the Harvard Semitic Museum is set to launch an array of both structural and exhibitional developments in the coming years.


Susan McIntosh speaks about Mali's precious cultural and archaeological sites increasingly threatened as a result of recent military action and environmental degradation. McIntosh, of Rice University's Anthropology Department, lectured Tuesday night in Fong Auditorium.
